Population month

World Population Day is observed every year on 11th July. It highlights the importance of access to safe, voluntary, and informed family planning as a key driver of health and sustainable development.

According to the 2024 Uganda National Population and Housing Census, Uganda’s population now stands at 45.9 million people, with a growth rate of 2.9%. The country remains predominantly young, with over 50% of the population aged below 18 years, reflecting high demand for reproductive health and family planning services.

In this context, many women and couples still face barriers such as limited information, misconceptions, and unequal access to quality contraceptive choices.

This Centre’s promotional offer will respond to that need by promoting awareness and uptake of long acting and permanent methods and enable informed choices that align with one’s stage in life and fertility intentions.

The focus is on expanding access, strengthening informed decision-making, and empowering clients to confidently choose what works for them.
