MSI Reproductive Choices Uganda (formerly Marie Stopes Uganda) is aware of false and inaccurate information regarding our vasectomy services published in the Weekend Vision (27-28th June) and on social media.

These allegations are entirely inconsistent with our values, our clinical standards, and the way we deliver care, and we categorically reject these claims.

Every client receives comprehensive information and counselling before any procedure to ensure they can make a fully informed and voluntary decision about their care. Informed consent is a fundamental requirement across all our services, and every client is assessed to confirm they are able to provide informed consent before any procedure is undertaken.

The clinician who has raised these allegations ceased to be an employee of MSI-Uganda in February 2026, and the regional coordinator mentioned is not an employee of MSI-Uganda.

For more than 34 years, MSI-Uganda has delivered voluntary family planning services in line with national clinical guidelines and international best practice, working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders. We want to reassure the public of our commitment to providing trusted, client-centred healthcare that upholds the highest clinical and ethical standards.

Given the serious nature of these false and defamatory allegations, MSI-Uganda is seeking legal recourse in response to the publication and dissemination of these claims.
