In Uganda, significant inequities in access to sexual and reproductive health services persist, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach communities.
Geographic distance, limited availability of trained providers, stock inconsistencies at lower-level facilities and financial barriers continue to prevent many women, adolescents and underserved populations from accessing timely and quality care.
These access gaps result in
- High unmet need for family planning
- Preventable maternal and reproductive health complications
- Low uptake of cervical cancer screening
- Delayed care-seeking for reproductive health needs
- Disproportionate impact on adolescents and vulnerable groups
Without targeted service delivery strategies, these communities remain systematically excluded from essential health services.
Our Intervention with 20 national wide teams.
Our Mobile Outreach Clinics are a high-impact, equity-driven service delivery model designed to bring quality, integrated sexual and reproductive health services directly to underserved communities.
This model deploys skilled multidisciplinary teams including midwives, Doctors and Transport assistants who travel from urban service hubs to rural and remote districts on a structured schedule. Services are delivered in partnership with government health facilities (HC IIIs and HC IIs) where temporary outreach service points are established to ensure integration, continuity and local ownership.
What We Deliver.
Through each outreach visit, we provide a comprehensive package of services including:
- Long acting and short-term family planning methods (implants, IUDs, pills and injectables) .
- Cervical cancer screening and prevention services.
- Post-abortion care counselling and clinical management support.
- Health education and informed choice counselling.
- Referral and linkage to higher-level care where required.
